Teodor Morawski, a participant in the November Uprising, a member of the provincial Sejm of the Grand Duchy of Poznań, an émigré, and a journalist, published this book a year before his death, at the age of eighty-one. It is an alphabetical index of people, battles, treaties, and concepts for his *A Brief History of the Polish Nation*, written for mothers and teachers. Its 260 pages, arranged in two columns, cover the history of Poland from the Piast era to the decline of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and can also serve as a standalone handy dictionary. Published by Jan Konstanty Żupański in Poznań.

The title page and half-title page bear ownership stamps and a handwritten number. There is a small loss of margin on the title page, which does not affect the text. The spine cloth is cracked along the joint. Contemporary publisher’s cloth binding.
