The first Parisian émigré edition of volumes I-III of Juliusz Słowacki’s “Poezyj”, published in 1832-1833, is among the fundamental printings of Polish Romanticism and among the most important editions of the Great Emigration. This edition was noted in Karol Estreicher’s bibliography as the first printing of the author’s poetic volumes published in Paris after the fall of the November Uprising.

The print edition was published during the poet’s lifetime, during the period of the formation of his position among the émigré intellectual elite. It was the Paris editions that perpetuated Słowacki’s presence in the canon of national literature. The complete set of volumes I-III from 1832-1833, preserved in a uniform binding, is today an item of clear collector’s interest.

The copy underwent professional restoration and was bound in leather in the bindery of the Polish Antiquarian. The bibliophilic binding emphasizes the representative character of the volume and ensures its long-term collector’s stability.
