An anthology published in 1873 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the career of Paweł Stalmach (1824–1891), editor of *Tygodnik Cieszyński* and, for forty years, of *Gwiazdka Cieszyńska*, founder of the Polish Reading Room and the School Society of the Duchy of Cieszyn, and a man repeatedly punished for his articles. Stalmach was one of the first to awaken Polish national consciousness in Cieszyn Silesia. Contributors to the volume included Adam Asnyk (“At the Grave of Wincenty Pol”), Karol Libelt, Władysław Ludwik Anczyc (a sketch about the honoree), T. T. Jeż, Kazimierz Chłędowski, Adam Pług, and Waleria Marrené. The front cover features a gilded panorama of Cieszyn. The book illustrates how authors from all three partitions honored the activist from Cieszyn.

On the title page and the last page are the stamps “Ex libris of Fr. Zygmunt Kutowski” and “Mieczysław Mrazer, Kraków, 38 Szpitalna St.” The binding is from the H. Sperling workshop in Leipzig.

The signature on the title page is faded. The spine is cracked, and there are signs of water damage on the covers.
