Two late works by Władysław Stanisław Reymont, *Osądzona* and *Ksenia*, published in 1923—one year before he was awarded the Nobel Prize—by Gebethner and Wolff. Both are set in the countryside and tell the story of a person judged by the community, as well as of poverty and exclusion, in Reymont’s realistic style, which borders on naturalism.
