Polish edition of one of the most important poetic volumes of the 19th century – the work of Charles Baudelaire, a poet considered a precursor of Symbolism and one of the first “poets of the damned” in world poetry, as well as one of the most outstanding creators of modern European lyricism. Flowers of Evil is a landmark collection of poetry in which the author tackles themes of beauty and ugliness, transience, melancholy, sin and the spiritual tensions of modern man.

The 1927 Warsaw edition, translated by Bohdan Wydżga, is part of the reception of Baudelaire’s work in Poland during the interwar period, bringing readers closer to one of the most important achievements of French literature.
