Binding: Period half-leather binding, with the initials “K.L.” embossed in gold at the bottom of the spine, an inventory label on the upper part of the spine, and cardboard endpapers with scuffs.

A summary by Stanisław Karwowski, a historian and teacher from Poznań, covering the period from the Fall of Constantinople (1453) to the Peace of Westphalia (1648): the great geographical discoveries (Columbus, Vasco da Gama), political changes in European nations, and the history of the Reformation in Germany, France, and England. Published in 1881 by the Fund of the late Norbert Bredkrajcz, who financed Polish scholarly publications in the Prussian Partition, and printed by Filip Chocieszyński in Poznań.

On the spine are the gilded initials “K.L.” of the first owner. On the title page and on p. 447 is a pencil signature reading “Zofia Kasprzak.”

No front endpaper. A stain on the title page, crayon marks on the endpaper, and an inventory label on the spine. The cardboard covers are worn.
