Description

Markets of Sale – Publishing House of the State Export Institute, Volume IV
Warsaw 1929 | AP bibliophile binding | Very good condition

The fourth volume of the prestigious publishing series of the State Export Institute in Warsaw – an institution established to promote Polish goods abroad and support the foreign trade of the Second Republic. The publication runs to 1226, IV, [2] pages and is a compendium of knowledge about foreign markets for Polish exports, compiled at the height of the economic prosperity of the late 1920s – just a few months before the Wall Street crash of October 1929 and the onset of the Great Depression.
The publications of the State Export Institute were printed in small editions and went primarily to chambers of industry and commerce and specialized libraries – making them rare on the antiquarian market today. The copy has a number on the title page, indicating a controlled institutional distribution.
The book block is preserved in very good condition. The copy has been hand-bound in an exclusive natural leather binding by the Polish Antiquarian Bindery.
An item for collectors of economic prints of the interwar period, economic historians and bibliophiles looking for unique sources for the history of foreign trade of the Second Republic.
