An 18th-century devotional and homiletic print dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk, the patron saint of a good reputation. It is part of the trend in 18th-century religious literature that promoted the veneration of saints and their virtues as models for the faithful.
The author of the text is not named in the print—the name of St. John of Nepomuk indicates the patron to whom the work is dedicated, rather than the author, which is typical of devotional prints of this period.
This copy is bound by hand at the Polish Antiquarian Bookshop’s bookbinding workshop. The pages are clean, in good condition, and free of significant damage; the block is complete and stable, and the text is legible. For an 18th-century practical print, the condition is exceptional.
