For years, Franciszek Korab Brzozowski collected Polish proverbs, sayings, and folk maxims from everyday speech and older sources. The collection was published in 1896, after the author’s death, by Aleksander Słomski’s publishing house in Kraków. It opens with an extensive “Account of the Life and Writings of F. K. Brzozowski,” signed by K.E. and dated in Kraków on March 13, 1895. This is an important source for the history of the Polish language and folklore.

The volume is complete. There is a tear of approximately 2 cm along the edge of the title page with minor discoloration; otherwise, the pages are clean, free of stamps and annotations.
