Florian Bobrowski’s Latin-Polish dictionary, based on Jacopo Facciolati’s dictionary, was published in Vilnius in 1822 by Józef Zawadzki. For many years, it served as the primary Polish dictionary of Latin. Between 1841 and 1844, Adam Zawadzki published its second, significantly expanded edition, featuring medical terminology by Feliks Rymkiewicz.

Provenance: On the last page, a handwritten note in pen reads: “Property of Zygmunt Pobrczewski. Warsaw, 11/10 Okólnik St. Purchased at an antique shop in Warsaw,” dating from the second half of the 20th century.

First edition, for lovers of old dictionaries and Vilnius prints.

There is a small ink stain on the last dozen or so pages. The binding is loose and requires repair by a bookbinder.

An item from the 19th Polish Antiquarian Book Auction.
