A collected edition of the works of Józef Dyonizy Minasowicz, a poet, lawyer, and translator from Warsaw. He came from a family of Armenian merchants, was educated in Leipzig, and combined his work as a civil servant with literature. Among other works, he translated Schiller’s “Ode to Joy” and Goethe’s “The Erl-King”; he published in the *Pamiętnik Warszawski* and the *Biblioteka Warszawska*, and co-edited the *Tygodnik Muzyczny* (1820–1821). Volume I contains original poems from 1812–1843 and translations; Volume II contains remarks on the art of translation and further translations; Volume III contains epigrams and short poems; and Volume IV contains translations and supplements. The edition was prepared by Jan Nepomucen Bobrowicz (1805–1881), a guitarist and participant in the November Uprising, who, while in exile, served as a publisher of Polish literature in Leipzig. This 1872 edition is a so-called “title edition”: the 1844 sheets with a new title page.

Four volumes in two books. The title page bears a owner’s signature and has a repaired tear. Half-leather binding.
