Volume Three, the final volume of the collected works of Seweryn Goszczyński. It consists of a translation of “The Songs of Ossian,” poems published by James Macpherson as ancient Gaelic songs, which stirred all of Europe in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The translation includes, among others, “Latmon,” “The Death of Kutulin,” “Dartula,” “Temora” (in eight songs), “Sulmala of Lumon,” “Konlat and Katona,” “The Songs of Selma,” “Berraton,” and “Fragments,” along with a glossary of explanations. Goszczyński’s translation contributed to the popularity of Ossianism among Polish Romantics.

There is a stamp on the glued-in title page. The paper is yellowed in places. The period half-leather binding needs to be restored.
