Bartłomiej Groicki, The Judicial Order of Municipal Matters under Magdeburg Law in the Polish Crown, printed in Kraków in the Year of Our Lord 1616. Now reprinted with the permission of the Elders; Articles of Magdeburg Law Known as the *Speculum Saxonum* […]; Procedures Selected from Imperial Laws […]; Statute on Court Fees under Magdeburg Law […]; A Register of the Order and Articles of Magdeburg and Imperial Law […]; Titles of Magdeburg Law […]; Enchiridion of Certain Common Provisions of Magdeburg Law […]; Abrogation and Regulation of Abuses and Extravagances […]
Przemyśl, 1760, Printed by the J.K.M. Press of the Society of Jesus.
19 cm, fol. [6], p. 155, [1], fol. [5]; p. 64, [1]; fol. [1], p. 53; fol. [6]; fol. [29]; fol. [1], p. 238, fol. [8]; fol. [27]; fol. [5]
All the parts were published together—compiled by the editors—and bound into a single volume. The significance of Groicki’s works is well captured in the preface to the 1953 reprint of *The Order of Courts*: “Groicki’s works on municipal law […] are not merely commentaries. In the absence of a codification of municipal and rural law, they were regarded in municipal and rural courts with the same authority as statutes, and judgments were based on them. The importance and popularity of these works […] are evidenced by the fact that they were reprinted numerous times throughout the 17th century and even into the 18th century.”
A rare edition in a complete, beautifully preserved copy—despite some localized discoloration of the pages—in a leather bibliophile binding.
