The first separate edition of the third part of Dziady, a work of fundamental importance to Polish literature and European Romanticism. The 1833 Paris edition, published by Alexander Jełowicki, is among the key printings of the Great Emigration and among the canonical items of the 19th-century collectors’ market.

Dziady Part Three is one of the most important national dramas, written in the immediate context of the repression following the November Uprising. This edition was published during the author’s lifetime and played a fundamental role in consolidating his position as the spiritual leader of the emigration. As the first separate edition of this part of the drama, it has special bibliographical and historical significance.

A complete copy, with a preserved intaglio plate depicting the author’s bust – an element often missing from circulating copies.
