Description

This is an extremely rare and valuable industrial catalog from the beginning of the 20th century, bearing witness to the development of the Polish machinery industry during the period of rapid economic growth of the Kingdom of Poland. Published in 1904 by M. Lewinsky and Son in Warsaw, this is the 6th edition of this comprehensive catalog, which testifies to the great popularity and reputation of the company’s products.

The Joint Stock Society of the Machine Factory “Gerlach and Pulst” was one of the largest and most modern metallurgical and machinery enterprises in the Kingdom of Poland, continuing the tradition established in 1848 by Adolf Gerlach and Karol Pulst. The company specialized in the production of metal machine tools – lathes, planers, milling machines, drills and woodworking machines, and its products were highly valued on the domestic market and exported abroad.

The catalog, richly illustrated with numerous engravings in the text, presents detailed technical descriptions, construction drawings and specifications of the machines offered by the factory. For historians of technology, industrial collectors and researchers of the history of Polish entrepreneurship, it is a source of inestimable value – documenting not only the equipment itself, but also the level of Polish technical thought and industrial organization in the early 20th century.
