Józef de Puget Puszet’s *Political and Social Treatise*, published in Warsaw in 1788, during a period of lively debate over the reform of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth’s political system. The author examines the conditions for the prosperity of nations, the organization of the state, and the sources of social and economic development, aligning himself with the Enlightenment tradition of political thought. The work offers an intriguing insight into Polish reflections on the state in the final years before the Partitions.

A complete copy in a period half-leather binding, preserved in very good condition; traces of insect damage in places.
