François de Wailly, A Brief Compendium of French Grammar by Mr. de Wailly / Abrege de la grammaire francoise de Mr. de Wailly [1792]

François de Wailly’s Grammar of the French Language, translated and adapted for Polish readers. It includes a comprehensive treatment of phonetics, orthography, inflection, syntax, and punctuation. The book was used by students, translators, and language teachers in Poland in the late 18th century and is a fine example of Warsaw’s educational literature from the Age of Enlightenment.

A complete copy, professionally restored, in a leather binding made at the Introligatornia Antykwariatu Polskiego. The paper shows minor discoloration.

A period ink ownership and inventory inscription: “Henrykowie No. 6081. Pzewloccy.” This entry documents the copy’s inclusion in the book collection of the Przewłocki family—a noble landowning family whose private libraries served both educational and practical purposes.
