Description

“125 Years of Horse Racing” is a richly illustrated album published in 1966 by the State Racing Tracks in Warsaw, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of organized racing sport on Polish soil. The publication is an extremely valuable compendium of knowledge about the history, tradition and development of horse racing in Poland – from the first races in 1841, through the period of partitions, the interwar period and the post-war era.

The album contains detailed descriptions of the most important race tracks(including Warsaw – Sluzewiec, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan), profiles of outstanding horses, breeders, jockeys and trainers, as well as rich iconographic material – archival photographs, posters, racing programs and documents. The publication documents not only the sporting rivalry, but also the importance of racing for Polish horse breeding and equestrian culture.

It is a must-have item for equestrian sports enthusiasts, collectors associated with the hippie tradition, as well as anyone interested in the history of Polish sport and its organization over 125 years.
