The book is a detailed analysis of the donation made by the artist couple, Franciszka ( née Krzyzanowska) and Leon Wyczółkowski, which has become one of the most valuable museum collections in Poland. The gift includes a wide range of works of art, including paintings, drawings, graphics, as well as documents, letters, photographs and other memorabilia related to the life and work of the Wyczółkowskis. The publication contains rich illustrative material.
The book comes from a bibliophilic thematic subset of some 500 specialized titles on Polish painting of the 19th and 20th centuries. A copy in a noble leather binding made in the bindery of the Polish Antiquarian.
