Description

The first edition of one of Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz’s most important works, a literary testament to his philosophy and catastrophic view of Western civilization. Insatiability is a psychological and philosophical novel set in the near future, engulfed by chaos and the collapse of values. The main character, Genesip Kapen, undergoes an inner transformation in the face of a growing spiritual and social crisis, and his fate is a reflection of the anxieties of the entire era.

The work combines elements of the grotesque, futurism, philosophical reflections on the essence of humanity and existential anxiety. Witkacy’s characteristic style – full of irony, absurd situations, colorful characters and linguistic experiments – makes the presented item extremely original and moving.

Originally planned as a trilogy, the novel consists of two completed parts: Awakening and Madness, in which the author analyzes with visionary power the decay of culture, the manipulation of the individual and the influence of ideology on human consciousness.

Copies in bibliophilic leather bindings made in the workshop of the Polish Antiquarian.
