Description
The first Polish graphic arts textbook written by Hieronim Wilder (1876-1941), an art historian and the most prominent Polish antiquarian of the early 20th century. The book discusses in detail the most important graphic techniques (woodcut, copperplate, intaglio, etching, aquatint, lithography, mezzotint). A detailed description of each technique is accompanied by reproductions. Among them are 2 autolithographs by Leon Wyczółkowski and 2 original woodcuts by Władysław Skoczylas and Józef Holewiński. The work also contains a bibliography and a Polish-French-German-English glossary.
A copy in bibliophilic leather binding made in the workshop of the Polish Antiquarian.
