Pre-title card narrower than the block, traces of repairs to 3 pages of notes, paper loss of one page with list of publisher’s printed matter supplemented with a strip of paper, corners of 2 pages supplemented with paper. First k. of notes trimmed with minimal damage to text. Note cards have been placed at the end of the book.

Full brown leather. Decorative embossing on spine fields, covers and edges. Gilding on the corners. Gilded titlepage on leather escutcheon. The lining and edges of the pages hand-marbled.
