Description
“Decline. Diary 2019-2022” is a personal record of the author’s daily life, reflections and observations – Andy Rottenberg – keeping a diary through 2019-2022. The book documents a unique and dramatic period in history – from the Notre-Dame Cathedral fire, to the COVID-19 pandemic period, to the outbreak of war in Ukraine, combining private themes with socio-cultural commentary. Rottenberg examines her own experiences of aging, health, loneliness and passing, while also providing a vivid narrative of her cultural life, travels, encounters with people of art and literature, and personal reflections on the meaning of life and a world in flux.
This diary is an intimate and honest story in which the author confronts her own fears, memory, time and the human condition, while remaining thoughtful, reflective and rich in literary quality.
The book was hand-bound in natural leather in the bindery of the Polish Antiquarian, which gives it an elegant, luxurious look and makes it particularly attractive as a gift or as part of a unique book collection.
