The monograph, written by Pawel Migasiewicz, is devoted to the work of Stanislaw Wolnowicz, one of the leading late Baroque sculptors active in Poland, especially in the Malopolska region. His monumental and dynamic compositions, distinguished by their expressiveness and decorativeness, are an important part of the Baroque artistic heritage. The author analyzes the artist’s oeuvre, his workshop, inspirations and influence on the development of sacred sculpture in the 18th century.
The book comes from a bibliophilic thematic sub-collection of about 500 specialized titles on Polish painting of the 19th and 20th centuries. A copy in a noble half-leather binding made in the bindery of the Polish Antiquarian.
