Description
An early 19th century edition of elegies by Jan Kochanowski – one of the most prominent representatives of the Polish Renaissance. Along with trench and song, elegies are among the most important lyrical forms in his oeuvre. They are a collection of reflective and philosophical works, maintained in classical poetic form, and are proof of Kochanowski’s mastery in adapting ancient models to the Polish language.
A professionally restored copy, in a bibliophilic leather binding made in the workshop of the Polish Antiquarian.
