Bobrzy\u0144ski sought the causes of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth\u2019s collapse primarily within the country itself: in the anarchy of the magnates, the paralysis of the Sejm, the nobility\u2019s aversion to taxes, and the weakness of royal authority. Volume I covers history up to the end of the 15th century, with a map of Poland in 1492; Volume II leads up to the Partitions, with a map of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1772.<\/p>\n<p>The signature \u201cZ.
