A collected edition of the works of J\u00f3zef Dyonizy Minasowicz, a poet, lawyer, and translator from Warsaw. He came from a family of Armenian merchants, was educated in Leipzig, and combined his work as a civil servant with literature. Among other works, he translated Schiller\u2019s \u201cOde to Joy\u201d and Goethe\u2019s \u201cThe Erl-King\u201d; he published in the *Pami\u0119tnik Warszawski* and the *Biblioteka Warszawska*, and co-edited the *Tygodnik Muzyczny* (1820\u20131821). Volume I contains original poems from 1812\u20131843 and translations; Volume II contains remarks on the art of translation and further translations; Volume III contains epigrams and short poems; and Volume IV contains translations and supplements. The edition was prepared by Jan Nepomucen Bobrowicz (1805\u20131881), a guitarist and participant in the November Uprising, who, while in exile, served as a publisher of Polish literature in Leipzig. This 1872 edition is a so-called \u201ctitle edition\u201d: the 1844 sheets with a new title page.<\/p>\n
