An edition of “Bad Hour” (La mala hora) by Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez (1927-2014) – Colombian writer, journalist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1982), considered a leading representative of magical realism. The book was published in 1997 by Muza SA publishing house in Warsaw, translated by Jan Zych.
\n“The Evil Hour” is M\u00e1rquez’s third novel, written in 1959 and first published in 1962. The story is set in a fictional town whose inhabitants live in an atmosphere of overpowering terror and fear, almost outside of time and history. The novel is considered a direct precursor to “One Hundred Years of Solitude” (1967) – it features, among others, the character of Colonel Aureliano Buend\u00eda.
\nA copy preserved in very good condition.
