A beautifully edited edition of the myth of Cupid and Psyche translated by Lucien Rydel (1870-1918) by Apuleius [2nd century after Christ]. The work is part of his most important work “Metamorphoses or the Golden Donkey.” The book is decorated with illustrations from Raphael’s frescoes in the Farnese Palace in Rome according to Braun & Clement’s photographs, as well as likenesses of decorative grotesques from 18th-century engravings.
